If you're heading to Beijing for a work trip, let me introduce a hotel that worked perfectly for my recent business travel — Jen Beijing by Shangri-La. With a packed schedule, convenience was key, and this hotel delivered on almost every front.

Room: Jen 40 King

I booked the Jen 40 King Room — a spacious setup with a king bed and a single sofa bed. It was quiet, clean, and perfect for focusing after a long day. Although I didn’t get the CCTV tower view I hoped for, the overall comfort made up for it.

Facilities

The hotel features a large gym (Trainyard), an indoor pool, spa, sauna, and a gastropub named Beersmith on the first floor. Food and beer were solid, though pricier than outside restaurants — understandable for a hotel setting.

 

Breakfast at San Wu Tang

Buffet breakfast is served on the second floor at San Wu Tang. From 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, the buffet includes eggs cooked to order, fresh fruit, salad, bread, and congee — clean and simple without overly strong local flavors. Dinner is around 208 CNY and includes Chinese and Asian fusion dishes.

• Forbidden City (15–20 min by taxi)
• Guijie Food Street (for authentic Chinese dishes)

 

Final Thoughts

If you're visiting Beijing on business, Jen Beijing offers comfort, access, and useful amenities that make work travel less stressful. I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in town.
